Lists, Lists, Lists

I'm always making lists! I have lists everywhere; I make lists, and I lose lists. I have LISTS OF LISTS!

I remind myself of that dear New Zealand gardener, Moosey, "head gardener" at Moosey's Country Garden. Or, the other way around: She reminds me of me! (chuckles!)

And, I've been known to complain (oops, yes, I've complained) of my short - and getting shorter - memory. Husband/Best Friend/Chief Photographer has said repeatedly: "Write it down; make you a list!" My answer is: "I do!--I do!!!"

I sometimes reach the point I think to myself: Be done with the list making - and GET MOVING, get out there and get DOING! I smiled when I read Moosey's same thoughts; I guess a gardener, is a gardener, is a gardener, is a gardener.

(Apologies, Miss Stein.)

More about Gertrude Stein.
"Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose", G. Stein ("Sacred Emily") see:

More about "Moosey". The name "Moosey" was given Mary as a pet name, a name of endearment given her by her children. I think it is delightful! Most families that I know have at least one member named Mary; so if one says "Mary" to me, I have no idea which Mary until further explanation. But, if one says "Moosey" to me, it is such a distinctive name, I know immediately the person to whom they refer - totally charming!

If you haven't met Moosey and her wonderful garden, don't waste your time reading my blog, go straight to her website. You are in for a treat! http://www.mooseyscountrygarden.com

That is a great site, Barbee. Thanks

Moosey has a head start, Barbee, she lives in 'heaven on earth' - New Zealand.

Sell your house and travel! hahaha

I had a girl said, "Mary me". I didn't know whether she wanted me to, or was telling me her name!

Keep smilin' girl!

Mother Nature (Tennessee, U.S.A.): Her son does the web site for her. Several years ago it was his mother's day gift to her. It was even greater before they put all that advertising on it. Even so, you are right, it is a great site.

Bob (Australia): I think you are right, Bob. I think she does have an advantage. It must be great living there. Believe me, there are days I would gladly sell out and travel. But then when I think about it, I think nawwwww! Thanks for the smiles!

Too funny! I make lists too. I make so many lists that I loose my lists, it's all just a bit too crazy. I think the memory loss goes along with the depression

Cinj (Wisconsin, U.S.A.): I think you are right about that. Weird, isn't it!

Don't feel alone. I make grocery lists then leave home without them!

Wow that's quite a site! Thanks for letting us know about it.
You know the thing about lists--I forget to read them! :)

Kathleen (Colorado, U.S.A.): Isn't that annoying! Or, I leave them in the car, which is less so, but still...

Meadowview Thymes (Texas, U.S.A.): I know what you mean, I write things on my wall calendar then forget to check the calendar! I'm happy you enjoyed the link. I think she journals everyday. Whew, I do well to get something written twice a week, if that often.

Well, I make a list and then forget the list. Menopause, I'm thinking. (Hoping...)

Brenda (Texas, U.S.A.): Yes, let's blame it on that! Brenda, thinking of you as that bully of a storm, Ike, heads your way. I saw in your last post that you are gathering things in and seem to be battening down the hatches to get ready for him. I'm glad you are as far away as you are. You will be out of the water at least.

Glad to know I'm not alone in either the World of Lists or the World of Forgetfulness !
I seriously think I need to start taking those Brahmi leaves I keep feeding my kids for enhanced memory. They remember everything ... especially the things I dont want them to!

Barbee' said...

Sunita (India): That is cute about the children :) If you take the Brahmi leaves yourself and find they help the problem, pleeeassee let us know. We are all going downhill over here. I remember one day during one of our club meetings one member asked another, "What is that woman's name?" The second one replied, "How soon do you need to know?" I thought that was one of the funniest things I'd ever heard, and so appropriate. We were all about the same age.

Ha, Barbee'! I love that exchange at your club. Priceless! Ach, memory. I don't make lists on paper, just in my mind. If I subsequently forget something, I figure heading back for it falls under the heading of good exercise, which, as we know, increases blood flow to the brain! Meanwhile, pass those Brahmi leaves, please...

Oh, don't I know about lists! Thanks for your welcome to Blotanical, Barbee--I've been meaning to get over to your blog (must have been on a list . . .)--I see know why so many bloggers I read, read yours. Truth is, I started blogging because I kept losing the lists. Glad to have found you!

Chris (England): Hi there! All of you are making me feel as though I am in a lot of terrific company. Wonder what would happen if we all swapped lists around. Oh, and Chris, I am not ignoring your email about finding your blog. I don't remember how I did, but thought I would go back and see if I could retrace my steps and see if I can figure it out. Just haven't had time to do that yet. Right now I am mentally and physically bushed from a day of medical appointments. Nothing serious, but exhausting none the less. Brain is not working right now. Fingers are typing in automatic mode.

Cosmo (Virginia, U.S.A.): Oh, how funny! Delightful comment, and... Thank you! How fun that you came over and visited!

George Foreman, the boxer, named each of his five sons George.

No problems about remembering their names!

esther montgomery (England): Smart man! But, isn't it funny when imagining what it would be like to live in that family. Every time someone said 'George', I guess all of them turned around to see if the speaker was looking at him. Probably made it easier for their school teachers.
