Meet Buster
A Special Friend And Gardening Buddy
I would like for you to meet Buster. I wrote about him in the cat section of my web site. If you would like to read that post just click on his photo.
What an adorable kitty. Wish I could hold him in my lap for just a bit. There is nothing quite as relaxing as petting a kitty in your lap! Happy New Year Barbee!
Thank you, everyone, for your comments. I do feel very lucky to have this friendly, handsome cat for a neighbor who likes to come visit. He adds joy to my day.
My wife once bred and raised Burmese Cats. I went to Cat Shows and spent time with her as she promoted and ran her small business. That was surprisingly tolerable, lol. Anyway, I can remember waking up in the morning with as many as 8 kittens squoze in bed under my legs. Now and then I would wake up and feel this abrasive little tongue licking the tip of my nose. Prior to that, I had had a couple of cats but nothing special. I then developed a special feeling for the critters. Buster somehow looks like my sort of "gato". But maybe it's just the name! Hi barbee. Happy New Year to you and a great 2009.
Hi Steve, that is SO funny! I can just envision it; and you remind me of some happenings in the past that I probably should write up sometime. I know there are cat shows, but I can't imagine how the people pull it off. Do the cats know they are being shown off and feel competitive the same as dogs do? Do they have to sedate the cats to keep them from streaking off??
Your cat is beautiful, Barbee:) As I write this, my cat, Smokie, is sitting on my lap. He's shedding and the hair is getting on me...but I love him anyway. He's an inside cat only...but would love being in the garden if he got out;)
I.F., yes, and when I see him in the distance where he blends into the background, I can see only his white feet stepping along, as if he has on white socks.
Buster is a beauty! My parents have neighbors which are both Vets. They drag home cats and dogs all the time. Two of their cats have taken up with my parents! My parents keep food, water and blankets on their screen porch for them both. They give them the attention they are not getting at home with so many begging for attention. Mr. McTavish is a huge fluffy Yellow laid back kitty and Bob is a Black and White Tuxedo kitty that is so friendly. He knocks over their morning coffee often when trying to give head butts! My parents are retired and love the company of the kitties when outside. My parents also have two "inside only" cats so they are surrounded by kitties.
Barbee this is a lovely story about Buster. He is a gorgeous cat. I have not seen a grey cat for a long time. I had a Manx, Tommy, a tabby, he was such a character. Loved him very much, long gone never forgotten.
Maybe being a character runs in the blood of Manx kitties. Buster is the only Manx I have ever known, and he surely is a character. Thank you for telling me about Tommy. I love it.
Too much fun!
Please, no more.
I think I have had more than my share.
I need to spend my time on writing and gardening.

The Garden At Crocker Croft is where I garden a wee bit more than an acre, most of which is an old limestone quarry. It has been a labor of love since 1989.
As an elder gardener, I am slowing down and finding that I now enjoy my web site and blog almost as much as the garden. Must be getting lazy in my old age.

Happy New Year, Barbee!
Looks like you've got a real gentleman of a cat befriending you :)
I've never seen a Manx cat before.
What a lovely kitty!

Hi Barbee.
What a fine cat you have, we had a cat many years ago when my children was small.

Barbee, I am slow in responding, but thanks for coming by, Love Buster. Love the picture of your home in the snow. Come again.

Isn't it great to have such a friendly gardening buddy? Speedy isn't allowed outside so she stays inside while I garden.
What a very handsome chap. He looks a bit like my Pushkin.
Hi Buster and Barbee.
I must say you are a beautiful cat Buster!

They surely can be a lot of company to a person. Trouble, yes, but they are worth it!
What a dapper looking little gentleman!

Oh my, he is one handsome kitty!
Don't those white whiskers make you love him!

Your parents sound like my kind of people. Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about them and all their feline friends... I loved it.
