On Again, Off Again

My blog is one in the group of blogs that has had trouble getting picked up by the Blotanical Picks Lists. It works, then it doesn't; then it works, then it doesn't. Off and on, off then on, then off again.

I wrote a thank you post when it seemed to be working... only to discover that it was not. Several days later, it did work, but by then my thank yous were too far away to be seen by those I was trying to reach. It seems to be working again, therefore, I am running it again. If you nominated my blog or voted for it in the recent competition, I do hope you see this post.

I am running late with my Thank Yous, but that does not mean I am any less grateful; quite the opposite, actually. I kept putting this off because I couldn't find words with deep enough meaning to express my feelings of surprise, happiness, and gratitude to those of you who nominated me for an award in Blotanical's first annual blog and post contest. And more thank yous to all the people who voted for my blog in the category "Best U.S. Blog".

When I look at the list of winners and see that my blog came in fifth after four very outstanding blogs, I feel humble and grateful, and to say the least, very surprised. Thank you everyone.
But, do you want to know a secret?!
(whisper... I voted for Frances, too! :)

Leaving you with a few snapshots of my jungle in springtime.
Thank you, again.

I was indisposed during the time the rush of voting and stuff came down for the favorites, so I did not cast a vote for anyone. Wow - so many great blogs anyway, I am almost glad I missed it. How to choose? It always knocks me out how well these garden bloggers do it. I find it intimidating but also inspiring as heck.

Your humility remains your greatest quality, Barbee. You give real credit to those things around you without interjecting yourself. You obviously love and cherish these things and it shows through wonderfully. I don't come here because I want to learn something, necessarily. I come because you are a great gal. Hell - everyone knows that! I would have voted for you in a New York second, come to think of it. :-)

Barbee, I am having Blotanical troubles also. So I have more or less given up on them for now. Being in the low 300's makes it hard for people to read your blog. Everyday I slip further and further, soon I will be in the mid 300's.....
Hey at least I am achieving something right? But I did pick up your blog with Google Reader, the first time that you posted it.
That at least seems to be working.

Steve (Oregon, U.S.A.): Steve, you are something else! Now you've got me blushing. I should print and frame your comment then hang it over the computer! It's better than a vote! Thank you!

Muddy Boot Dreams (British Columbia, Canada): Thank you for letting me know about the Google Reader; at least now I know that is going through OK. I feel sorry for Stuart; Friday he said he was taking his family camping and get away from all the frustration. I don't know what you have done to try to get back into the stream, but I can tell you what I did and it seems to be working now. I will go to your blog to leave the message.

Good to see you back in Blotanical land Barbee. I felt the same way you did, just being nominated for best commenter was a nice gesture. :)

Congratulations, Barbee!

I'm very frustrated with things at Blotanical right now. My posts aren't getting picked up at all. I do hope things get fixed soon.

Barbee...Just stopped in to see what's new in your world and to say hello. Your "jungle" looks very serene. Hope this finds you well.

perennialgardener (Virginia, U.S.A.): Thank you, glad to be back there. I am glad you were nominated, because you are!

Robin's Nesting Place (Indiana, U.S.A.): Thank you, Robin. Have you tried the work around that Stuart gave us? That is working for me right now. I'll try to get over to your blog and leave a comment about it that you can delete when you are through with it.

spookydragonfly (Ohio, U.S.A.): Thank you for coming by; I love hearing from you. I wonder: Do dragonflies migrate?
